Why, actually, is there such a thing as "European action week for children of alcoholics"?
Because there are too many stories that too few talk about and even less care about.
This webpage is about actions in various European countries to remind the people, that there are children growing up with parents who are abusing alcohol. These parents consequently create a very tough life for their children and closest ones. Many say that what is happening inside families is not a public business. The truth is, that it becomes a public thing as soon as the door is open and the child enters the rest of the world carrying a heavy backpack loaded with doubts, blame and pain caused by parents' drinking.
Many also say that children rights have to be respected. And considered. That's why we have this week!
